Henry Whitesell

Will filed in 1844. He is buried at Old Moravian Cem, Hope, NJ, Warren Co., NJ. Check 1840 Census for age.

He is named in his father's will and is bequeathed one Dollar.

Henry Whetsel is listed in the abstract and index to the 1793 Militia Census for New Jersey. (p. 280) He is listed at the Township of Oxford next to his brother "Jos. Whitsell" and neighbors, George Sarles, Jos. Butler, Jon Roxburgh, Isaah Bennet, Jacob Derbery and Henry Heiston and Jos. Burge. Nearby are Ruben and Moses Green, Martin Lewis and David, Jos. and Saml. Swazy. Also in the Township are Chrstr., Mathias and Jacob Commins, Steven Whitesell.
In 1830 at Belvidere Township, Warren County, New Jersey is a Henry Whitsell (p. 364 of US Federal Census for New Jersey). [Can someone supply transcription?]

Henry's will was signed 15 June 1838 while he was a resident of Warren County, New Jersey. It was probated in 1844. The will and a codicil mention a granddaughter by the name of Rachel Merrell, deceased, and a second granddaughter named Elizabeth Merrell. These may be daughters of Henry's daughter Mary (Whitesell) Merrell.[5-4]
